Farmers Market

Today we went to the Cherry Street Farmers Market.  There's a lot to see there.

These people were entertaining everyone throughout the Farmers Market.

If you look very closely, you can see she has a lot of baskets.  If you'll look very closely again, you'll see that she is making a basket.
This is Jezebel's Hot Eats.  This is a breakfast truck.  Mom and Dad always eat at this place when we come to the Farmer's Market.
This lady thought Super J and his glasses were cute, so she gave him a crownie, which is a chocolate chip cookie cooked with a brownie.  He ate it for breakfast.
If you look beside the truck, you will see these oval pizzas that you can buy and heat up at home.  They look very tasty.
This is a vegetarian breakfast burrito.  It is Dr. L's favorite, and my favorite.  There is also another breakfast burrito there with turkey sausage.
We sit on the curb and eat our breakfast.
This is my parents' breakfast.  It is Filipino garlic rice with an egg. I like this too.
This is a shop with antiques.  And if you look inside, you can see this thing that looks like a ghost, but it isn't.  It's just my reflection.  And if you can look inside, there is a real cat in there.
This is a stand with herbs.  We have herbs planted in our backyard.
This is a pot place. I think she makes the pots somewhere else and brings them here to the Farmers Market.
This is a sign for Elote.  They serve breakfast tacos.  They have a restaurant downtown where they have monthly Luchador matches.  I hope we get to go to one soon so I can wear my Luchador mask.
These are the people who work the Elote booth.  These people asked me if I was a blogger and I said yes.
They gave me a free drink.  It's called Horchata, which is cinammon and rice milk.  It was delicious!
This is the puffy breakfast taco.  It tasted so good.  It's the best breakfast taco I ever tasted.

I can't wait till the next time we go to the Farmer's Market!!!

Busy Weekend!!!

We had a busy weekend.  First thing Saturday we went to Super J's soccer game.  He's a really good player on the team.

Next, we went to Whole Foods.  They had another Foodie Fight.  It was a Cinco de Mayo Foodie Fight, so they served Mexican food.

This was a cinnamon espresso churro.  She said that you can make the dough from scratch, but she just used canned biscuits, cutting it into strips, rolling in cinnamon and sugar, and then frying it.  She dipped it in chocolate.  It tasted so great!  Super J voted for this one.

This was the first thing that we tasted.  It was called May's Rice and Beans.  It wasn't my favorite thing, but it was good.

This was called Awesome Nachos.  This is true.  They were awesome!  The guacamole (or wuacamole, which is how dad says it) is made at Whole Foods and it was really delicious!  I love avocados!  I thought he said his brother made the salsa, but mom says the brand is My Brother's Salsa.  It was good, so check it out!

This is called the Queso Fresco Quesadilla.   I was curious what they were going to use the pineapples for on the display, and I was the first in my family to realize this quesadilla had pineapple and yellow bell pepper on the side.  It tasted good.

This is called the Magdalena Bay Scallop Salad, which is seafood.  It was one of my favorites!  It tasted fresh with the corn relish.  Mom and Dad voted for this one.

This was called Tex Mex Pasta.  It was so tasty!  I love this bowtie pasta.  This had a lot of spices, like cumin, and it smelled garlicky.

This was called Margarita Pie.  It tasted like cheesecake with lime.  It was really yummy!

This was a Virgin Pina Colada.  It was the one I voted for, as well as Dr. L.  We voted for the same thing at the last Foodie Fight as well.  It was so fantastic I thought my eyes would explode!  It gave Dr. L a brain freeze.  HA!  Here is the recipe.
Virgin Pina Colada
1/4 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen mangos
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup pineapple coconut juice
1 tsp honey
Put all ingredients into the blender, puree and enjoy!

After the Foodie Fight, we went to Muskogee.  That is where our dad is from.  There was a fundraiser for our dad's cousin's daughter, who is 6 years old.  There was a spaghetti dinner and an auction.  Mom and Dad let me bid on this basket, and I won it!  A few of the things in the basket were games, puzzles, and snacks.  It all looks like a lot of fun!  And we got to see our Nana!
This was my favorite part of our super fun weekend!  On Sunday, we went to see The Avengers!  My favorite Avenger is Iron Man.  I want to be an inventor like Tony Stark when I grow up.

Swingtastic!

Whenever we get home, after homework and chores, we like to play on the swings in the backyard.

Super J doesn't know how to swing, but instead of using his feet he uses his hands, pushing off the grass to boost up.

Kid B does know how to swing.  He is better at swinging than me.

This is me, Dr. L.  I like to play bumper swings.

If you don't see it, I have a hand gun, made out of my hand.

We like to jump out of the swings.  I do high jumps and land on me feet. Kid B lands on his butt.

This is us playing Feet Wars.  I'm better at this because I'm the one with longer legs.

But sometimes they start kicking me and it slows down my speed so I lose my balance.

This is Dr. L recommending you do what i do when i am bored out of my pants!!!!

FOODIE FIGHT!

Today we went to Whole Foods.  They were having this contest where people went around the store and there were these little stands with different kinds of food to try.  The contest was called the Rockin' Foodie Fight.  At the end, we had to vote for our favorite one.

Here is the ballot.

This guy's stand had this thing that was called "Addicted to Spuds Salad".  It was a potato salad.  It was good tasting food!

She had this thing called Smokehaus Blues Brothers Dip.  It was named after the Blues Brothers who are in a famous movie.  Mom says I can watch it one day.  This was a cracker dipped in cheese dip. This was mom's favorite and the one she voted for.

This guy is dressed like Elvis because he was serving the King's favorite peanut butter and banana sandwich.  He had on Elvis' music as well.

This stand had two foods.  The two foods were called Grilled Hot Ham and Cheese and Brandy Mussels.  The mussels were a seafood and they tasted delicious with a lot of flavor.  The mussels were dad's favorite and the one he voted for.

He had a salad that had pineapple, candied walnuts, mint, spinach, and raspberries.  It was fantastic!

This lady is dressed up like Katy Perry because the name of the food was called Katy Cakes.  It was an angel food cake with pineapple and lemon juice.

This is vegan meatloaf.  It was great!  I can't believe it didn't have any meat.  It was made from lentils and brown rice instead.  This was Super J's favorite.

This was my favorite and the one I voted for.  Dr. L voted for it as well.  It was called "Just Like Jimmy Buffet's Breakfast".  This is the recipe.
12 ounces So Delicious Coconut Milk
1 cup 365 Tropical Blend Frozen Fruit
1 scoop Garden of Life Raw Vanilla Protein
365 Real Dairy Whipped Topping
Blend coconut milk, frozen fruit and protein until smooth.  Poor into chilled glass and garnish with whipped topping.

Go to Whole Foods!  They have really great tasting food!
